Please do give some details on this machine. Im curious on the mechanical aspects of it.
From what ive heard from the grape vine it's a frontier series on steroids. All plastic frame with a fuser belt for a fast 20 second warm up time. Fuser is a nightmare to take apart and of course the rebuild kits are drastically cheaper than a new fuser.
How does the transfer belt look? All plastic to?
Is the document feeder similiar to the MX2600 or did they cheap out on it to?
Is the fuser as bad as it sounds?Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.Comment

We have had four fusers completely shred themselves in the past 2 months. On one machine, it happened TWICE in under two weeks. The call description for my first call tomorrow:
MODEL:MX-3610
PROBLEM:Ink is smearing off the paper.
Gee, I wonder what this could be...?Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment

I dabble in sharp rarely, we have our own team of sharp at our company and most it not all are not to pleased with this new sharp model.
Those fusers are flawed some how. I think it maybe the soft roller being used with the belt, giving to much play. On tosh models that roller is used for the heat roller and is solid. The fusers look pretty solid, the collars which stop the fuser belt movement seem fine. Only thing we can think of is that sharp need to look at this soon and get a fix out.It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.Comment

Sharp has several retro fixes out, the lastest being last week. I agree with the roller being to soft. The belt bunches up on one end and shreds to pieces; as if the tension is not great enough to hold it in place.I have seen color systems using the same basic design but using induction heat instead; with an extremely low failure rate.Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment

It is rare when i see a fuser belt shred from drifting on a toshiba, hope sharp fix it soon (maybe), they are ripping out toshiba market with cost of machines and running costs. It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.Comment

We've had one here for a few days at the very least, just one for demo purposes... From what I've seen, I can't say anything. I like the whole concept of a new machine and the machine itself looks like it might actually work if everything was perfect, though I am aware of the fuser issue... It would be interesting to see it in the field.Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?Comment

It is a good looking machine. Hell, it has an iPad on the front. One of our sales reps even referred to it as "sexy".....f&*^ing salespeople. We had them for a month as demos without a single problem. Once they hit the field, the problems started. I will say Sharp is very good at getting on top of problems and issuing bulletins and retrofits. There is a new fulcrum piece out to prevent the fuser belt damage. We shall see.Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment

Re: Sharp MX 3110 maint. required TA?
I'm hoping someone can advise me on what should be replaced when this message pops up. I haven't seen anyplace to order a maintenance kit, so is it individual parts, or? Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Again, machine says 'maintenance required TA'Comment

Re: Sharp MX 2010 thru 3610
The TA (total all) code is displayed when the counter in SIM 21-1 reaches 90% of its set value. If the meter is close to 100k you will need primary transfer belt and blade, fuser cleaning kit, filter kit, PTC kit, paper dust kit, and black drum and developer. These are listed in the CONSUMABLES part of the service manual.Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment

Re: Sharp MX 2010 thru 3610
Hm. I can get everything except ptc and paper dust kits. Any chance you can cough up part numbers? I'm only in a quoting stage at present, not ready to do the work today. I will eventually get the SM (unless you wanna give me that too) when it's time to go to work on it, which possibly may never happen. Customer has several color machines and so far have not started maintenance on one.Comment

I can't begin to tell you how many ways I disagree with these statements. I can't see any good ideas in this series.I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.Comment
