    Toner Pirates

I installed a new machine at one of my long time accounts 2 months ago.
I walked in to deliver toner and the receptionist was on the phone with my company telling her that the price of toner is due to go up in price and do they want to order more now.
$400 per box of black toner for a Ricoh 3245.
I am the only employee at my company and I check toner levels each month when I get meters.
How do these scumbags get their info?
Even the guy I bought the machine from has no idea where the machine is.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

They've been around for ages. They somehow get someone in the office to give them machine info so they can "update their records". They call back shortly after with that scam you mentioned. I tell my customers when they get a call like that to say they have a contract that covers toner so send some for free.
