    National Running Day

Since today is National Running Day, I'm interested in learning if any other techs are runners... I know I am! If you are a runner, how much and how often do you run?

I'm a runner too. Some 20 km in a week (2x10km). Did half a marathon twice. You can empty your mind when running.

        That's funny Zackuth!

Eric, it sounds like we run about the same distance. I started running this past October and really got after it in January. I ran my first 10k last month and I'm now training for my first Half-Marathon (in December) and my first Full-Marathon (in March '12).

I thought most techs like me have bad knees. I tell people I can't run, so I will have to stand and fight.

Run? Haven't done anything that silly since I got my licence at 17, and that was a looong time ago.

Just kind of getting into it for about a year maybe 5 to 10mi a week. I was doing great in the winter. Now that summer is here, down south. It's almost too hot.. Well I'm not out of shape by any means. It's just good exercise. Just use good technique and wear good shoes. Though it seems some prefer to not wear any. :P

Getting back in to it after about 5 months off. Ran 7 50k trail runs, but he last two developed bad knee pain and DNF. Trail runs are the way to go though. Happy running.

I'm right there with you CompyTech... I live in MS also and it's HOT by 7am. I have several friends that run barefoot or with the Vibrams, I'm not into doing that! ha!

I've never tried the trail runs, although I know some people that prefer to do them than running on the roads. That's another thing that I would like to try when it cools down some.

Anyone use a site to track your mileage and what-not? I use DailyMile.com and really enjoy it.

I run, bout 2-4km about 2-3 times a week with my dogs. Its true about the knees though. Some of the older guys i work with have shot knees, i assume it is down to 20years plus in the job.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

I use running ahead. You can keep track of your mileage, routes enter garmin data, shoe mileage and other workouts.
