Here's an update on this. I moved from the country to the city, and this was taken from my patio. While everyone else has flowers on their patio, I decorate mine with tomato plants. Pretty sure my neighbors think I'm a hillbilly. I slay the bluegill in the lake, too.

Every one of those Canada geese has a tag from the US Department of Natural Resources. If I got caught killing one of those, even for food, I would go to jail for it. They are safe for the moment.

Got to love the Feds telling you you have to put up with the grass eatin Shit Machines. What is needed is for them to import some wolves to eat the geese then. But then the neighborhood pets would be endangered. What a cluster f**k!

Add more stuff to the ' GARDEN ' ; like extremely HOT peppers , let these fine feathered government freeloaders have access to them.
They may decide to leave your property alone .
..... No Weapons Involved ..... Plus ..... what they don't eat , you can use with those tomatoes to make salsa .
                "The Serenity Prayer" . . .
God grant me the serenity to accept stupid people , the courage to not waste my time and energy on them , and the wisdom to know that I cannot fix STUPID .

A few good snapping turtles in the body of water that draws them in would make short work of that. I lived on a farm for a while that had a fair sized pond, and we got some geese on purpose (Canadians and the white ones). They flourished until the snapping turtles moved in, then we never saw geese on the pond again. At least any live ones.
Also, depending on how far out in the country you are, bottle rockets can travel in a ballistic trajectory if aimed correctly, and while they won't be physically harmed, most geese will flee at the sound of the report.

One of the "sun dogs" I saw today. It was from my windshield, does that count?

Yep, it's about to start here again. Another 4 inches or so. I'm out of driveway melt, but the snowthrower is ready to go..... It was actually pleasant here yesterday, spent some time walking the property and picking up all the fallen branches and sticks. Found a nice sunny spot out of the wind, and enjoyed a nice Dominican. Getting antsy to get my veggie garden started! It's hard to be patient this time of year.......
