Just check how many times George Bush jr. went on vacation back in 2000, when there were signs all over the place about Osama bin Laden about to strike within the US.

I believe Barrack has George W. beat with the amount of vacations, and I doubt it's even close.

I wish I could take a vacation with all expenses paid for by tax-payers... wait, I just wish I could take a vacation...

I never cease to be amazed how, even though my blog had nothing to do with George Bush, somehow things always manage to swivel back around that way.

We were talking about the Middle East folks.

I totally get the point. Based on the fact we are there, we should never plan to leave, no matter how much it cost us in dollars and human life, because leaving would give strength to our enemies. Hell we better get back to Viet-Nam before communism spreads.

The truth is that no matter who is in office, the opposition will pick apart every little thing he does. I used to see those same type of pictures of Bush on vacation while he was running up a 1 trillion dollar debt. I am not partisan and am liberal on some issues and conservative on others. I like facts, figures and data to make arguments with. If the President is bad because he takes a vacation, then apply that same logic to the house and senate and you find all of them are bad. I can not find a list of politicians who work straight through their term, it seams they all take vacations.
How about this fact,,,pretty much 99% of all American politicians claim to belong to some form of Christianity, so if the country is so screwed up, is it not the fault of the Christians?

My point was that although the actual fighting may cease, there will probably be a need for some support for some time to come. We are still in Germany, England, Italy, South Korea, The South Pacific, other places I am sure my aged mind won't let me remember. That does not mean it's because we are there out of bad intent.

I must disagree. Being in Europe is a lot different than being in the Middle East. I do not hear about bases in Europe being attacked. Also the population in a lot of our host countries would like us to leave. Japan comes to mind. Anything western will always be a target in the Middle East. My belief is that we should be paying for the wars as we go along, each week. Divide the cost up for everybody working and show it as a deduction on your check stub every week. A second deduction would be to pay back the hundreds of billions we borrowed from China to do the war. If you want to get the attention of an American, mess with his paycheck.
