Re: THANK YOU ALL VETERANS
Back during the summer of 2005, my wife and I went to an outdoor Brooks and Dunn concert. (Blossom Music Center, if you know the Cleveland / Akron area.)
We knew something was up when there were tons of live text messages posted before the show on the screens of either side of the stage, almost exclusively praising the USMC.
During their incredible performance of "Only in America", about a dozen Marines proudly marched onto the stage.
There wasn't a dry eye in the place. All filled with pride.
Even today I still get choked up about it, especially now as I type.
What an experience! After the show, chants of U-S-A, U-S-A, were everywhere; in the pavilion, walking to the parking lot, in the parking lot, you name it.
It was by far my proudest moment ever to be an American!
A few days later, I heard a radio interview with Kix Brooks, and he said that they thought about not doing that song on the show, as it has a line about a school bus driver in New York City. They thought it may be a bad idea to perform it after 9-1-1. He then said that every time they perform it, it brings out a "sea of American flags", and they would leave it in.
I'm sure glad the decided to keep the song as part of their show!Talk about heart lifting!

Re: THANK YOU ALL VETERANS
Thanks and respect to all veterans, and remeber all the men and women who have lost their lives especaily the 1st and 2nd world wars, which have made the world a decent place to live, yes it has it's problems, but god knows what it would be like if the WW1, and 2 went the other way.Comment
