    Logistics companies

I'm not quite sure if anyone on here handles this for their company, but since it's usually service prepping the machines I'll go ahead and ask: Who does your company use for shipping to return off-lease equipment?

Just asking because I decided to give a newer company a shot and have been dealing with a claims mess since May. Today, they just told me our company is S.O.L. They shall never get one red cent from me again.

    Re: Logistics companies

We use a company called Worldwide to ship our freight, ITT and national account equipment back to the manufacturer
On large loads of unboxed equipment we use a couple of different companies:
    businesssolutionstransport
Copier lease return | copier shipping | end of lease copier returns | copier | transportation | moving | data wipe | data erase| security

Another company that I have dealt with in the past is called Around the Clock and they pick up my wholesale equipment, but I do not have the contact info for them. They are very good though

Hey Pacman, what was the shipping company that you had trouble with?

Two companies to stay away from are Schock Logistics and TTR Shipping. They both claim to be experts in copier transportation but between the two, thousands of dollars in inventory has been missed and the damages they cause are terrible. Currently dealing with TTR on a claim...we'll see if they d*ck us around.

I'll be posting a huge thread later with photos and compllete details.

This guy had a bad experience as well:

            Re: Logistics companies

@King - Can't say it yet until we get our money, but I can tell you that they're based out of Chicago.

Honestly, I'm shocked about Schock (pun intended). We've used them dozens of times and never had any issues with them whatsoever. For the coast runs to San Diego we use Stairmasters. Jake is a great guy but he just runs between Phoenix and San Diego I think. I'm not 100% sure on that though.

On our situation, we had a lease return to go back to San Diego. Someone from this logistics company just telemarketed us ad so we talked. I explained that the machine could not be crated, wrapped, or palletized due to the return letter we got from the leasing company. He said that's not a problem, he had a company for that, R and L shipping. Well, the machine was utterly destroyed, I didn't receive any pics of it, R and L said it was their fault at first and then decided because it wasn't crated that it wasn't their fault, the insurance company Vazzano denied the claim on the same grounds and now the logistics company said we are S.O.L. They at least are going to credit the money that we paid them back to us, but nothing to do with the insurance claim. I even asked for the names of the executives. The lady I talked to wouldn't even give me those on the phone and referred me to their website. Looked up this company with the BBB and their rating is F. Shoulda known to do some research before saying yes. You get what you pay for.

I hope it's not TTR; they have an office in Chicago...eeek. At least we paid with a credit card so we have chargeback options but the truth of the matter is if you needed the machine and sometimes you do...then you're out of luck.

TTR gave me the email and phone of the CEO so so far things are looking hopeful. The bad thing is I'm still going to look bad in the eyes of my customer because I'll be the bearer of bad news.

haha...ok. good luck with it. I swear sometimes you need a dedicated person just to deal with the logistics crap.

Oh, about Schock Logistics. They never damaged anything when we used them to ship but we dropped them because they left behind about $4,500 in parts and supplies that were supposed to be picked up with some hardware and they never made good so we didn't pay them and they've been trying to collect on us to no avail.

BST has always taken good care of us with shipping our equipment between the several locations we have throughout the midwest and the employees are good to work with, which I like.

CLS is a company we use when we have a full trailer full of equipment to ship between locations and the drivers take their time packing everything up to make sure it is nice and secure.

My wholesaler swears by Around the Clock and the drivers are awesome. Good communication, take care of loading things the right way and they show up when they say they will and deliver when promised which is huge for them.

Well it looks like TTR Shipping is not going to pay our claim. They REALLY damaged stuff and toners were missing too. I found out they steal them from lease returns and sell them on ebay. Getting the run-a-round so we filed a credit card charge back on them. Hopefully that goes through. I'll post pics and details when it's all done with.

there are others, like Copy Carriers which do great.
