I recently had the pleasure of watching a man have to humble himself after refusing my offer of help. I was doing a cleaning of a Bizhub 250 and saw a man using a security level shredder and it stopped. I ask if he needed help. "What" he said. "I am also a shredder tech, do you need help?". "No " he laughed "I think I got it" and went back to looking at it. He had no idea what he was doing. The front door had come open and that is why it would not come on. He was sticking his hand in it with it still plugged in. Then, and we have all been there, he would stare at it real hard as if looking for a little sign to pop up and say "Fix me". I watched with joy as he squirmed and did the same things over and over with the same result. This went on for about 15 minutes, and then he finally walked over to me with his head hung , and in a humble voice said "well I guess I need your help now, it is not working". Ileft a long pause for dramatic effect then replied "There is an idiot switch on the door, to protect idiots from sticking thier hand in it with it plugged in...like you were doing. If you close the door it will work. " Then I smiled real big as he said nothing and got this look on his face that said "I am such a dumbass". I have never enjoyed cleaning a copier so much.
If you are condesending to the tech...you will pay

Re: If you are condesending to the tech...you will pay
I had one 2 days ago that made my decade...
Tech calls me and needs a little assitance with a printing issue, he's not the best with network problems so I agree to meet him onsite..He says Bizhub stopped printing 1 week ago, company IT guy says he worked on it for 3 days before placing service call but is now hot because it's been over a week... I go in, place my laptop on his network, see my little connect icon go off-on-off-on...think "that doesn't look good". Pull the MFP from network hook up locally and bingo within 1 min i'm sending test prints. IT guy is standing in corner so I look over and say."sorry, but it looks like the MFP is OK, problem is on your side". He starts screaming "so that's it, you just wash your hands of the whole thing and walk out, that *ucking bullshit". I say look the MFP can print, but is not getting a good connection when plugged into your side..NIC won't even light up.To be on the safe side I flash firmware, reprint to MFP and re-state my postion on the print problem. He says thats crap, I want your managers name and # and you can just get the *uck out. Not one to argue with a customer I quietly gather my things and w/o futher word, I walk out the door. I speak with original tech and ask him to, again being cautious, go ahead and replace the MFP board with NIC. He does the next day and still no change.
Next day I get a call from my boss (very understanding, one of the best SM I've ever seen) and he tells me company IT's boss would like one more try with me, so I again go out, this time me, my boss the original IT jerk( who is now standing in a corner being very quiet, but with distainful look on his face), and his boss. I explain what I saw when I plugged my laptop onto their network and the company IT boss says "Thats unusual, you aren't a domain member so I can see why you wouldn't have access, but you should at least get an address assigned". His guys pipes up "Well it works with my laptop, I tested it". I ask can we move the MFP to another location to test, he says no, not possible due to lack of ports, I say how about a hub, he says sorry against company policy. I say how about the workstation accross from the copier, can we disconnect from her and use her jack? He says yes, goes and finds a 50 ft cable, plugs it in and immdiatly, PRINTS ARE SPEWING from this MFP..Company IT boss says "Thank you gentleman, I believe you can continue with your day". It took everything I had from going over and saying "IN YOUR FACE ASSHOLE". The original IT jerk thinks he's going to get the last word by saying " I still think the MFP NIC is a little overly sensitive...his boss looks over and says shut up right now. I left whistling Oh what a beautiful morning...EmujoIf you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.Comment

I apologize its the English sense of humour, it sometimes isn't accepted internationally very well and in some cases like the above goes down like a lead balloon.
