be careful what you say and who you say it to....

    Just thought I'de share this...
Went to an account for CQ issues, account track was turned on so I was looking for the service login in the admin mode so I could make test copies. While in the list, I saw *.******* as one of the account codes. Having a friend outside of copy world with the same last name, 1st initial, I thought to myself..HMM wonder if that's so and so. Wrapped up the call and ran into my friend about a week later...Said hey *** do you do buisness with *** law firm? He says yeah, why?, I say nothing particular, saw your name as one of the account codes and wondered if it was you...he say yeah, that's me..The following Monday, I get a call from my boss. My friend had called the firm and asked why they were leaving personal info around the copier...The firm called my boss and asked why I was discussing firm information to my friends...Everything was eventually sorted out (as I had not seen anything personal) but customer requested to never have me back at office. My 1st black mark in nearly 20 years in this buisness. You never know...Emujo

Good advice. You can't be too careful with business contacts and you can't be too trusting of friends. Imagine if it was a (theoretical) wife of your friend who, unbeknownst to him, was initiating divorce proceedings.

I've heard a few things at the county attorney's office that I'm sure I wasn't suppose to.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

Boy, glad I'm not working in your country - agreed there are some things we should take care of and we usually know when some things shouldn't be discussed, but that sounds way too much paranoia for my liking.

Well, as far as I can read, the US is the country of choice for frivolous lawsuits - maybe he was looking for one?
