Have you been to Chick-fil-A today...

This is the scene from the drive-thru line at the Chick-fil-A in Columbus, MS. I took this around 11:00 - just before the usual lunch rush. The temp was reading 94 degrees, and if you've ever felt Mississippi humidity you know the heat index was well over 100.

The line literally wrapped around the building, and the drive thru line was down the street and around the corner.

Bet you won't see this on the liberal mainstream news.

I suppose that with that speech given by their CEO, they may have pushed away a lot of customers, but they brought in more on the opposite end of the spectrum?

I've heard bits and pieces of this on the radio, as my new favourite show on XM is Covino & Rich, who are based in NY I believe... Doesn't greatly affect me, as there's no Chick-Fil-A in Canada, but interesting to hear about nonetheless...

A more spiteful person than myself with an equal hatred for the movie "Canadian Graffiti" may down vote you for that... That's where all the "eh" BS started that the world continues to perpetuate... I'd tell you all aboot it, but I have to go start prepping the dogs and the sled for the arctic trek back home.

That movie may take some blame, but...when's the last time you were in the Yukon? 'Cause I can tell ya: they are keeping the "eh" alive. Though after living in Western Canada for a while, I've come to hear it more as a rhetorical "hey?".

Can't help but concur with rhetorical "hey?", as I do it myself frequently - although I would like to distinguish it as its own entity apart from the stereotypical "eh".

One could argue that a language evolves the same as a living being, see any recent additions to nearly any English based dictionary for proof.

No offense toward our neighbors from the north...but if you think "Eh" is not part of the vocab then you've never hung out with a Canadian beer league hockey team...I do believe it is a little less prevelent in Montreal though...Emujo

I believe we broke it down somewhat, there's the stereotypical "eh" prevalent in culture today, and the rhetorical "hey?". The former is incorrect and not used at all, whereas the latter is what evolved from the stereotype.
