Re: Poll: How did you cast your ballot?
Of course the feds will have a fit and here is the big reason why. They can't control the growth of marijuana. As in there are way to many people out there with tons and tons of seeds. Think of how many marijuana seeds you have seen in your life and how many tobacco seeds you've seen. So therefore if they can't control the growth of it then they can't tax it like they do cigarettes and booze. If there is something out there that the government wants to tax and can't control.....well they just throw a hissy fit and make it illegal."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: Poll: How did you cast your ballot?
Living in Ohio, I am always amazed by the "don't drink and drive" adverts. Where do we buy our beer? At the same gas station we use to fuel our cars. Seems counter productive to me.
Anyone care to guess what the biggest cash crop in this country is? That's right...weed. Bigger than corn or soy beans.
It's about time.
I also happened to flip over to Fox News at the moment Obama won Ohio. I found it more entertaining than NBCs prime time lineup. Highlights included blaming hurricane Sandy, Karl Rove whining, and the reporter at the Obama party reminding everyone about the unemployment rate. Fair and balanced..? I think not.
Perhaps it was their shitty candidate. Lest we forget that Mitt was what was left after Perry, Bachman, and 999. If anything, it should be a wake up call to Republicans that they are completely out of touch.

Re: Poll: How did you cast your ballot?
I think those two guys (along with a few others) really cost the GOP a lot this time around and until the GOP is willing to change their thinking on a lot of issues they will continue to have a hard time winning elections above the local level. Think about it, economy a mess, unemployment is up there, 11+ years in Afghanistan, Gitmo still open and Mitt still lost (to that Kenyan guy). Even more telling is that the GOP lost seats in both the House and Senate this time around. That tells me that the GOP brand is on it's way down and they better get it figured out soon because 2014 is right around the corner and it's quite possible that they will loose the Senate. That coupled with filibuster rules changes might be the permanent demise of my father's beloved Grand Old Party.Comment

Re: Poll: How did you cast your ballot?
Auto Bailout - cost billions, hurt shareholders. Bank Bailout - cost billions, only the bank bosses saw any benefits. Wallstreet bailout - The government should know how to run a Ponzi Scheme, but can't even do that right... My 401k has still not recovered, and now is sinking even lower. Yup - I do not support liberal financial meddling, BUT DAMMIT, I'D SUPPORT A BAILOUT FOR THE TWINKIE!!!
On a more serious note - You're darn right the GOP needs to wise up. First thing they need to do is stop listening to the liberals telling them why they lost. NEVER take you enemy's advice on why you were defeated, to do so guarantees future losses.
Listen to the liberal media, and Romney lost because he wasn't "Centric" enough. Listen to a real conservative, and Romney just didn't inspire people because he wasn't conservative enough. He tried to appear more centric to capture independent votes, and just ended up appearing wishy-washy to the center and right, who should have been a solid lock.
Real lesson to the GOP #1: Grow a set of balls and call the liberals out on their obvious bullshit. Benghazi was treason. Giving out Obamaphones is electioneering. Obamacare is yet another step toward Marxism. Speak the truth loud and proud, then stand behind it and have the facts to back it up. You might still go down, but do it with a little dignity.
Lesson #2: Don't give the opposition such obvious bullshit to call you out on. Yeah, we know about the 47% - that don't mean there weren't a large number of GOP supporters in there who can't earn a big paycheck, but still like it better than foodstamps. That wasn't an issue until it was made into an issue. Don't alienate people who didn't hate you to begin with.
Lesson #3: Find a message that carries some weight with the majority of voters. You can't discuss economic policy in a way that appears to favor "the rich" because "the poor" far outnumber them, and you can't work it the other way because it takes so much money to buy an election. That being said, things cannot go on the way they are... we're running out of money to throw at a broken system. Welfare is no longer the "safety net," and getting a job has become the fallback position. We as a country aren't doing people any favors by just expanding the food stamp program, so we must give people a way out, and a warning to take it. The message of "'Equality' in being able to support your family" is more appealing than "'Opportunity' to get out of the hole"
Lesson #4: The Democrats own every ghetto in America, and it hasn't gotten the voters there anything but more poverty. They are a captive demographic, and it should be pathetically easy to point that out. People from "the wrong side of the tracks" aren't stupid any more than those living in the mansions up on snob hill - they just haven't seen a way to stop voting for the policies that keep them there because it comes attached to the policies putting food (such as it is) in their mouths until (if) they can find a way out... Find a way to separate the two.
Lesson #5: No, I'm not going to run for political office... I make people think, and they generally don't like that. I also have a brain with ideas that might actually work if anybody had the balls to try them, and political paradigms do not take kindly to anybody rocking the boat. I'd be assassinated before I could be elected, and both sides would argue over who gets to take credit.73 DE W5SSJComment
