They only obstructed for the last two years. Obama had a free ride the first two years. That's why the important thing to do was the billion dollar stimulus and obamacare. Fringe groups like the teabillies, birthers (dog-whistle for racist) and religious nuts are what sunk the GOP - and they know this. Their strategy will be to unceremoniously dump these lightning rods and appeal to socially liberal yet financially conservative voters.
