I have an interview with Xerox on the 23rd of November.

here is the follow up on my interview,

I was asked about moving to the mainland for a position, I tuned that down due to family.
There may be a position or two open here in my local area in the near future.
That is of course if a couple of the techs put in for their retirement soon.
They are going to keep my information on file, and if something opens here I'll receive a call.

Brand X down here in the states is a union shop - That's good in the short term, but I've yet to see a union that didn't outlive its usefulness.

Well at least it wasn't a flat out no, but it sounds like you shouldn't hold your breath waiting for someone to retire.

Having worked for Xerox, although across the pond, the old timers seems to stick around for EVER. I worked with one guy who still wore polyester pants and an afro hairstyle.
