    Christmas chili done

Christmas chili has now been officially tested and I'm sure that soon my eyes will stop watering and my nose will stop running. Maybe if I stand outside for a while I'll even stop sweating. Better have another bowl. You know, just to be sure. Then put it in the fridge to age properly for a couple of days. I'll leave some for Santa. Should give him a little extra boost for the sleigh.

I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

Give me chili verde with chunks of pork.

I loved red chili till my esophagus decided to ruin my fun with acid reflux.

I'll have to try my hand at that someday. But I think the kids would fire me if I made it for Christmas.

Not the heat brother, it's the tomato acid that pains me.

Techs out there with reflux understand.

It's a slow, creeping, biting acid feeling coming back up your neck and throat.

But I don't mean to hijack this post, I'm sure the chili is delicious and it sounds like a fun family tradition.

Is that the kind of chili where you have to put your loo roll in the freezer for the morning after?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                Hit it.

Sorry, JR, I was not thinking ATT, I do know the pain you're speaking off though, and I love chile verde also.,

For those of you in America, Carol Shelbys Texas Chile Mix is awesome. Also there is a spicy sauce called Tiger Sauce. It is near the hot sauce. Not as hot as Texas Pete, but has a lot of flavor.

Yummy. I love chilies. I am the only person at my home who loves to eat chilies. I need chilies for every meal I am getting. Now this thread makes me to go to the kitchen right now and have some chilies.
