[Annoying] Huh, that was really irritating

I had to kill off a couple of obsolete machines today. First one was a Lanier 6616AG (rebadged analog Panasonic, I think) and later there was a Riso GR1700. They both had main board failures,.
I know that stuff like this is for the best, but I don't like leaving any machine I get to work on unfixed if I can help it.

Yeah, I feel the same way, but, sometimes, you just have to let it go.

I think it's worst when it is a machine that you visit regularly or are solely responsible for as you feel that you have a lot of yourself invested in it to keep it going. If it is a machine you see once in a blue moon then an upgrade is an upgrade, but as Zootech says you have to just let go.

I ain't gonna shed a tear over that 6616 - that one needs a starring role in the "Preferred Method of Destruction" thread. (Yes it was a repainted Panasonic Analog, circa mid 90's - what fun the "fuzzy logic" was...)
