I like to go flying model aircraft with my step son, well I did until this happened.

p.s please don't let on to Mrs Lagonda that I have such a thing as spare time!
The first year I started flying RC aircraft the normal routine was as follows. Build ARF plane. Go to AMA site on Saturday and fly. Crash plane into the runway. Retrieve servos, receiver, and engine and put into small sack to take home. Repeat. A huge amount of fun that costs more than a little money
Spare time? Surely you jest! I spend all my waking hours in front to my PC. 18-19 hours a day. If I'm not fielding questions from my site then I'm getting new files and adding them to the site. I also spend a fair amount of time playing on Facebook.
I run 2 groups over there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/159846504220322/For Baby Boomers, If you were born between the end of WWII and 1964 (more or less) then this is the group for you.

I tried my hand at RC Helicopter flying. That's fun. And with the cheaper battery models, it's not expensive to replace parts, and they're easier to acquire.
I would like to fly some liquid fuel powered ones though.
A portion of my free time recently has been used up by this: 100_1272.jpg
Keep in mind this didn't happen all at once, this is the tropics of Iowa after all.
(I still prefer this to the tropics of Illinois where I used to live, ice is way harder to shovel.)
