    Good works

I participated in a Red Cross blood donation drive today (it actually was a coincidence that it took place this close to the Oklahoma tornado disaster, still, a lucky coincidence).
Just curious what others do for general purpose good works.
And also wanted to warn people that I might be less coherent than usual.

I gave blood regulary for years (something like 4 gal by now), but now with advance age, and collapsing veins, not so much anymore.

Up to around 30 donations by now, thats about 18 litres. Do my best to shame other people in the office to donate when the mobile Red Cross van comes around. I usually point out that the only people that they don't want blood from are drug addicts and poofters so if you don't donate which catagory are you in?
And of course salesmen are banned all together as we don't want the gene pool polluted any further.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

If you'll excuse my crappy metric conversion, that's over three gallons more than I've donated, good job!
