Life is too short to be a Konica tech

Went to a C454 to replace the registration roller..

left battered and beaten 3.5 hours later.

It can't be removed before taking about the entire drive unit.

Behind boards, motors, harnesses and all told about 56 screws.

And this is their new model...good grief

It is universal. I am working on a new Hp 4525 that needed a feed unit put in. 2 screws, after you gut the whole machine.

    I fucking hate design engineers.

I feel bad for you guys and those models. 4 screws on a Sharp and it pops out nice and easy... Ricoh on the other hand...

I don't understand KonMin's obsession with making the tech go on a cover removing adventure just to get the one cover you are trying to remove, off. It turns a one minute job into hour of cursing under your breath so the customer can't hear you.

Shoulda worked on a Kyocera instead.. Seriously though, all machines have their faults from a service design standpoint. They'll improve a machine but make part change out a nightmare from a previous design and vise versa..

First km/cs I worked on was the 520i series. Unfrigingbeleivable how easy that thing is to work on. I could do a pm. Bring in one box, be done in about an hour vs bizhub 500(shutters). The reg roller was a unit that just slid out. How cool was that thing lol.

Konicas are built for the older tech. There is a reason for so many screws. If you drop one under the machine, no worries, there are 15 more holding that cover on.

Life may be too short to be a Konica tech but no worse than laser cart technician

Customer complained machine stopped to a sudden halt with strange sound as soon it was turned on.
Opened the front door and could not get the cartridge out.Send me the complete printer to see what
                  the problem was.
Got the cartridge out and separated it in its two section to find the reason for the sudden halt.

Great work ? u concentrate on counting screws more than solving the problem. WOW !

Techs are tough cant bittered by some small screws.

Many times I have said to myself how much I would enjoy having a private chat in a dark ally late at night with some of the design engineers of the "digital" age of cover re-movement. Some of the shit they come up with make no sense at all.
