Oh goody, goody, I can't wait to get to my first call this morning, replacing a toner hopper on an MPC305, I'm such a lucky girl

      I sense sarcasm. :P
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

You were right to...been there all day, and will be there, at least, most of tomorrow!!!
Stripped machine down in good time (50 minutes), taking out the last screw and it dropped into the drive unit
An extra hour and a half spent trying to retrieve screw without having to remove drive unit and giving up, and having to remove drive unit anyway.
Rebuilt machine, now it says PCUs (all of them) not set correctly. Ran out of time, going back tomorrow to strip it down again to find what's wrong, probably one connector not plugged in.

I don't want to play anymore

I always hate that one connector that hides from me after a major tear-down. :/ Have a cookie. That will fix it. cookie bite.jpg

I hate dropping screws. For me in is usually into or at least near a power supply or other board. Have to locate it before reapplying power or risk losing a board, my boss does not to have to replace boards.

                I feel your pain Debs,
We've just discovered that one of our illustrious salesmen has sold one of these turds to a business in Tennant Creek in the middle of the Northern Territory. The closest tech is at Alice Springs 500 Km and a 6 hour drive away. It's going to cost us over $2000 for the tech to drive up there and stay overnight and that's before he even starts to work on the pox box. It will be cheaper just to send them out a new machine every 6 months.

That salesperson should be shot after he covers at least the first years service calls costs!

I might be heading up an out that way in the not to distant future. I might drop in and give it a kick with my boot to start it going again .......
