    Re: Pizza toppings

Back when I was serving in the Navy, I would order pizza when the food the cooks prepared wasn't fit for human consumption (which was often). Usually a 3 topping with sausage, mushroom, and extra cheese. Now my favorite is the all meat pizzas.

Just had to chime in: chorizo sausage, red and green peppers, with monterey jack cheese.

Just curious as to how these eggs are prepared before putting on the pizza: Raw? Fried? What other ingredients such as sauce, cheese, etc. do you use?

My personal preference: Marinara or tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, onions, green bell peppers, and maybe a little pineapple once in a while.

            How about everyone else?
Well, I can tell you that the eggs would be whisked thoroughly before being poured on the pizza. Where I worked, it would be poured on last. It usually went on what we called the Aussie Bacon and Egg, which consisted of Tomato sauce, onions, egg and bacon bits. I haven't worked in fast food for several years, but I remember the job fondly.

My favourite at the time was a modified butcher's block with almost every kind of meat including prawns, and topped with pineapple and hollandaise sauce. So filling. So delicious. If there was such a thing as a food coma, you wouldn't wake up from this one.

I just had steak tacos tonight so I got an idea for a mexican pizza.

Thin crust, add layer of cheese. Enchilada sauce, chorizo or steak or both. Peppers, onions, another layer of cheese, oregano and chives. Then bake it. Add Cholula hot sauce and enjoy..

I don't know about the hot sauce but I'd go for that!

I would try that one. That sounds like something they would do out in California

In California, the pizza is a chef's canvas - some great, some not so great.

                            Raw fish on pizza?
Um OK I did say I liked sauerkraut and pineapple on pizza, so maybe sushi is just an acquired taste that only sounds bad to me because I haven't had enough.
I don't know if tobasco is anything like the little bottles of Tabasco sauce that were included in MREs back in the day when I was probably in the Army Reserves, but if so, I agree. Tabasco sauce makes all sorts of things things taste better.

I don't know if I'm missing something but I thought pizza was baked and sushi and sashimi was raw so how could you have both together???

Unless you cooked the pizza base first then allowed it to cool then added the sushi...?

I wish I could remember what was on them, but one time when I was in Atlanta for training the trainers took the whole class to a place where large pizzas were around three feet in diameter and at least three inches thick (of which at least two inches were toppings). There were around fifteen of us, and we ate as much as we could of the three pizzas and washed it down with beer, and then hiked up the sloped side of Stone Mountain, and then got bussed back to the hotel. Ow.
