Oh no, it's most certainly not a fad, here's a picture of the chimney breast in my living room, nice Formula 1 pic adorning it (Eddie Irvine in the Jaguar in Monaco)

That looks like a nice place where you could kick back with a cold one, watch an F1 race...with Bastille Day or A Passage to Bangkok jamming in the background!"In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: Rush
F1 is ok, but if you want a real speed rush try drag racing.
my last drag car did 145mph in the 1/4 mile.
ended up driving it myself most of the time, as it scared the crap out of my brother.
I haven't seen any ads for that movie here yet, but I'll be on the look out for it.$hit Happens - Deal with it and move on.....................................sigpic....................................Lock & LoadComment

Re: Rush
I have quite a few 1:43 diecast models, but they are all in the attic now, I will sort them out and eBay them at some point, I still love them, but try not to fill my house with dust collectors anymore, I also have a 1:18 of Eddie Irvine's R1 Jaguar, but they won't ever be put on show anymore, so they need to goThere are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don'tComment

Re: Rush
Hi Debs, make you an offer for your F1 Jaguar? I'm aJag fan from way back (had a MK2 and MK7) got lots of models but not the F1 cars. I have a large poster of a XK 120 over my desk at work.
Drove all the way to Victoria back in the 70's to watch James Hunt drive so I will definitely be off to see Rush.At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.Comment

I planned my summer holiday this year around being able to meet someone from this site (to coincide with his holiday in Cornwall), I am decluttering my house, and he helped to rehome some vinyl records for me, being able to rehome my jaguar diecast models to a good home would be goodThere are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don'tComment

Re: Rush
My mom is a big fan of racing, but I don't find it interesting enough to keep my attention. As with Nascar, why devote hours to watching something repetitive when you can see all of the best parts on the sports broadcast in 5 minutes. When I worked at a factory in a more rural area all of the people lived and breathed sports. I just didn't understand how some of them would devote 20 to 30 hours a week sometimes trying to watch it all. I have stuff to do, so I could watch a 30 minute sport highlight show and sit in the breakroom just like I had devoted my whole weekend to watching like they did.
Now for me, this is a racing sport for people with a short attention span. I had friends who did this. IHRA Drag Racing - YouTubeThe greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment

Got to admit I just saw an ad for Rush and it does look pretty bad ass. Also being by Ron Howard makes it big time. rush trailer - YouTubeThe greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment
