The Question, it froze my brain for a few seconds...

So I am somewhere working on something last week, and my phone rings. It is one of my regular customers, but I didn't quite hear who she said she was. She had a question...

"Can you make this printer, or do they make a printer that can print 2 jobs at the same time?" My brain locked up.

    "What" I replied.

"Print 2 jobs at the same time."

"Do you mean have 2 different jobs come out at the same time?"

    "Yes"

Brain locks again as I try to visually comprehend the question.

"You can get two printers and set them up in tandem to print at the same time. Is that kind of what you mean?"

"No, my boss said to call you and ask because he thought you could make this printer print 2 jobs at once. "

"Tell your boss I am working on it, and will let him know when I have a breakthrough. Also he should not believe all of the rumors he hears about how great I am, as I have started most of them."

I am pretty sure her boss pulls down about $90,000 a year...

    Ah the upper management fallacy.

To compare it to nature, we'll use monkeys in a tree. The dominant monkeys sit at the top of the tree so they can oversee all the monkey functions and look after the female monkeys, they look down and all they see are a bunch of smiling monkey faces looking up at them. The monkeys on the lower branches look up and all they see are a bunch of ass holes.
