I used to drink Southern Comfort in college. I remember a party at a friend's place. One of the girls who there wanted to try some. We were using about 6 oz plastic cups. I filled her cup and after taking a couple of sips she asked how I drank it. I took it from her, went bottoms up, and handed the empty cup. The look on her face was priceless.

Same here, me and the room mates had a drink called the wookie. It was Southern Comfort and Mountain Dew blended with ice, mixed at the desired stiffness..... nothin bad ever happened when we drank this..........

Home brew beer and Mrs lagonda does her best to revive the New Zealand economy by consuming vast quantities of Marlborough Sound sauvignon blanc.

i got no doubt that you know how to drint tequila
but the real mexican way is as follows:

1-squese the lemon into your eye
2-sniff the salt with your nose
                  3-trow tequila over you shoulder
                  and have a nice day

My wife likes Jack with Code Red ( cherry mountain dew).

I had friends that made a drink called jumper cables, rum 151 & Jolt Cola. For those that don't know about Jolt, twice the sugar & twice the caffeine. Mixed with 151 proof alcohol = shocking.

Oh good god. I had forgotten the 151... After turning 18, I opened the floodgates. I had never drank a drop of alcohol prior, I wanted to focus on school; I went nuts, jeiger-bombs, shots galore, tequila was always on hand... Just all around party, trying to make up for what I perceived to be "lost time" I suppose. There was a week or two straight where I would do shots of half Bacardi 151 and half Jeigermeister, surprisingly they weren't all that awful. The jeiger gave it the necessary bitters and flavouring whereas the 151 gave it the kick and burn...

This was followed by a drink called the mind eraser, at the time a band called "Them Crooked Vultures" (rock supergroup composed of John Paul Jones - Led Zeppelin, Dave Grohl - Nirvana/Foo Fighters and Josh Homme - Queens of the Stone Age) had released a song aptly named "Mind Eraser" after the beverage. Naturally I decided to try the beverage for myself, things got pretty hectic pretty fast. The recipe I had found for the drink was essentially 2 oz of vodka, 2 oz of kahlua and 2 oz of tonic water, layered as vodka, then kahlua, then tonic water consumed via straw. The idea behind it was for the liquor to send you to stupid-town, and the tonic water to provide a bubbly feeling on the tongue after the vodka/kahlua mixture (akin to the feeling of your mind being erased).

This was probably one of the craziest months of my life, and I'm surprised at how much of it I remember, and equally surprised by how much of it was forgotten until it was recanted to me by friends/family afterwards.

All this liquor, and spirits. I don't mind the occasional Rum & coke (light on the rum).

But I am going through as many different craft beers I can find. None of that Tooheys, or VB, or generic beers.

My old friend Jack Daniels shots and sucking on a diet cherry pepsi.
Not to mention what we here in NM call green chile in a bowl in a metal bowl.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Like you, the last time i took any alcoholic drink was 27 years ago, I suppose we were on sort of drinking spree, I crossed the 'red line' and lost my way to my home, thankfully, one of the policemen guarding a local bank nearby was very kind enough to direct me home. I haven't touched anything alcoholic since then. Three years earlier i had quit smoking. Now a teetotaler.
It's now either a 'coke'...and the recently introduced brand 'Novida', or nothing else.

On a lighter note, I can be a pretty good designated driver. Depending on the weather we might have to take the stealth van, but if the weather is good enough we can probably take the 'Stang.
