    Any graphic novel readers?

Been reading them since before I could read and I am 52.

I read both DC and Marvel with some independents. (Elfquest, Nexus, Badger, Sandman and Dreadstar to name a few.)

Spider-man has always been my fave.

I even got to shake hands with Jack Kirby.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I still have some from the 80's. Also have about 80 to 100 golden and silver age comics in top condition. My taste in Graphic stuff changed in the 70's when I discovered Heavy Metal magazine. In Europe i believe it is Metal Hurlant.

The oldest t-shirt I own is a Heavy Metal shirt i got from the mag. that is now about 35 years old.

I am a huge fan of Moebius. I have several signed novels and a couple of signed prints. Also a big fan of Druillet. Would love to find the European cover for Electric Ladyland that he did.

I read all kinds of different comics as a kid....lived in a small town in the middle of no where so getting them consistently wasn't always easy so I just read what I could get...I read a lot....not so much into comics and graphic novels these days...I mostly read Warhammer 40k stuff....but I would love to go thru and read all the Judge Dredd stuff one day...I've read basic summaries of all the Dreed stuff but I'd really like to read the actual comics...and I'd love to get my hands on the Dredd/Batman crossover....cuz you know Dredd is a bad mofo when he can knock out the god damned Batman!

Used to collect them in high school - late '60, early '70s. Mostly Marvel and DC. Bought a few oldies at ComiCons. Lugged the lot of about 700 around through 3 or 4 moves. Finally just got tired of them taking up room in the basement, and sold the lot for $100. Not a very good return on investment..... Kirby was awesome though.

You all don't know what you are missing.

They are written more for adults than the cheesy stories in the 60's thru the 90's.

I admitted long ago how much of a nerd I am.

Sure we do. Reading comics as a kid introduced me to Tolkien. From there I move on to my favorite author, Asimov. I think it's safe to say that almost every Sci-Fi or Fantasy movie you have ever seen was created by someone who reads comics. When I was a young boy, living in the middle of nowhere, those stories were like escaping to another planet.

My old box of comics is pulled out every once in a while to look at the beautiful colors and art. They have values ranging from $20 to $800 per book.

My body might be 51, but my mind is stuck at 17 sometimes. I like it that way. Old people can be boring.

Gene Simmons of Kiss was a school teacher before he was in Kiss....and was actually fired for allowing his students to read comic books...his take on it tho was most of the children had difficulty reading english because they were immigrant's children and so forth....and comic books are very simple english to read....plus you got pretty pictures...and if you got the right comic...some of the coolest mofos ever slapped down with ink...

Comic Book writers are authors too.
Add the Artists to draw the story the author is trying say and you have a team that truly works together.

I give away comics to kids to get them to want to read, if I can get one person to RTFM in my lifetime I be happy.

The original artwork sells and is bought by more than contemporary art.

The movies that have been coming out and making billions of dollars are based on silver age comic origins (60's and 70's).

Where do you all thing I get my avatars from?

Copiers in the office, scan to file, 600 DPI full color and a free paint shop program.

Any one have a favorite super hero that would like a digital image?
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
