Do online ones count? I've been reading this: http://www.schlockmercenary.com/index.html for about seven years, and it took me a month or so in the back story to get up to speed in the beginning.
Just one of the progenitors of my interest in indie web comics back in the day. The only mainstream one I read on a regular basis is "Dilbert".

Nobody here is offended. Maybe 30 years ago it would have been taken as an insult, but personally speaking, I take any reference to a scientist or astro physicist as a compliment. One of the attractions of Science Fiction or Fantasy is the science.

I quit reading mainstream comics 30 years ago. I still love Heavy Metal though. It is more about the abstract stories and art.
