I try to vote for whomever is going to Leave Me The Hell Alone the most. Too bad the Libertarians don't have more representation, 'cause the Rebublicans are not the party of small government any more. For some reason, this thread got me thinking about what Michio Kaku said about humanity advancing to a Type I civilisation. I don't know why. I think because he said something about humans working together, politically and economically, to achieve greater advancements in energy production, etc etc.

In part, because if you disagree with his "policies", you are automatically branded as a racist by liberal politicians and the liberal media. (There is plenty of disdain for the Republicans (the "opposition" party), who are so frightened of being called racist, that they won't stand up to him on any substantive issue). He is a Statist, who wants to "fundamentally change this country" and thinks that "at a certain point, I do think you've made enough money", implying that this country is somehow fundamentally bad, and that after you've made a certain amount of money (he uses the $250,000 a year mark), he should get whatever you make beyond that. He spends money we don't have, rammed a healthcare law down our throats over the objection of a majority of the people, has presided over unprecidented spying on his own people, is a wretched foreign policy failure, militarizing the police, etc., ect. His power lies in turning everyone in to victims of one sort of another, who's dire situation can only be resolved by his intervention. Unfortunately, there are more than enough people willing to label themselves as victims. We are rapidly reaching the point where the wagon-riders outnumber the wagon-pullers. He is so dramtically contrary to the traditional American ethos of confident, self-reliant independence. Plus he's broken nearly all his major campaign promises, and continues to blame Bush for his failings. I could go on...... but I'd be whallowing in my racism.

Pres Obama and the Dems had a legislative majority for his first two years in office, and even then he/they had to resort to underhanded tactics to get Obamacare passed in the dead of night over the objections of the majority of the people. He is an abject failure as a leader. He would rather divide and pit people against each other rather than try to unify. He and Dems thrive on chaos and discord. It is the job of the President to lead the people, the people then put pressure on Congress one way or another. Republicans have no monopoly on obstructionism, Pres Bush had his hands full with an obstructionist Democrat legislature and a hostile media. BTW, Bush was no "conservative" - he was a proponent of big government and big spending for sure, but he pales to insignificance in the face of Obama. Pres Obama has had ample time to redress the "wrongs" of those evil, snooping conservatives, but instead has expanded those domestic spying programs. Don't get me started on Benghazi, where he left his Personal Representative (U.S. Ambassador, equivalent to a military Flag Officer) and his staff to twist in the wind for nearly a day, before being savagely murdered. Funny when liberals won't "reach across the isle" it's called standing up for principle, but when conservative stand up for principle, it's called obstructionism.
