    New computer virus?

    Howdy,

    Anyone aware of a new virus that seems to be causing all sorts of issues?

    I've heard of multiple Windows machines locking up, blue screening, you name it, all in just the past few days, at different customers.

    Nothing showed up on a web search, on the news, etc...

    Weird.

      For what it is worth, /. usually has a pretty good handle on stuff like this.

          Sounds like pretty standard Windows operation to me... lol

          I don't suppose all your customer issues started after a "Patch Tuesday" by any chance?
          Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

              Oddly enough, yes.

              Wonder what Micro$oft broke now?

                  I have had quite a few patches that have caused issues with my Microsoft Surface Pro 2 running Windows 8.1. Seeing as that is a Microsoft product to start with, it doesn't say a lot for Microsoft's quality control with Patches.

                  Just remember, Patch Tuesday is always followed by Fix It Wednesday...
