I get 2. I think I am supposed to get 3 next year for 15 years of service, if they don't find a way to screw me out of that. I don't consider it vacation since without sick or personal days my hours get used up a few at a time over the course of the year. Paid holidays are New Years, Good Friday, Memorial Day, The 4th of July, Labor Day, 2 at Thanksgiving and 2 at Christmas. Pretty sure the folks in England don't celebrate the 4th. Not sure why.

Maybe we should stop whining here in the UK, I get 26 days plus public holidays (New Years day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Mayday, Whitsun, August bank holiday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day)

4 weeks (20 years service), most of the core US holidays (however, service has to cover some days the rest of the company gets off), 2-3 floating days, and sick time accrues throughout the year. Very happy with our benefits. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
I'm up to 3 weeks paid vacation a year, plus I get 5 paid personal days a year. The unused personal days can be carried over into the next year, for a maximum of 20.
Vacation, what's vacation? Officially its two weeks plus an additional two weeks sick leave. In actuality, it's ends up being a half day or a day here and there. Sick leave gets chewed a couple of hours at a time by doctor visits. Used to take two weeks years for annual training with the Army Reserves.
Down our way,
4 weeks holiday leave (accrued at 3.07 hours per week)
+ 10 paid public holidays
New years Day
Australia Day
Labour Day
Good Friday
Easter Monday
Anzac Day
Queens Birthday
Melbourne Cup Day
Christmas Day
Boxing Day
(personally I think we need something between the Queens birthday and the Melbourne cup the gap is too long and you forget how to take a day off)

I can confirm. Not enough Public Holidays in the 2nd half of the year. Labour Day was moved to October to help rectify that.
I started last year and get 24 days + public holidays.
Is it true that in the US the days you're ill are deducted from your vacation days?
In the US, there is no law that states a company has to give you ANY vacation or paid holidays or paid time off. I have been reminded over the years that it is out of the goodness of their heart. The law states that you have to get at least a 10 minute break for every 4 hours of work. The exception is government and federal workers, such as cops, teachers ect. Every private company sets their own policy.
Years ago I watched a special about a factory in Ohio that gave no paid time off at all, but paid their employees based on production, so they wanted to work all the time. Year end bonuses were based on output for the year for that person. The top bonus winner would usually have enough to pay cash for a really nice car, after taxes.
As far as your question goes, in my case I can choose to use vacation or not get paid.
