    Solar Eclipse Today

Hopefully we won't get too many clouds. We should see it around 5:45 Eastern Time.

Raining pretty hard here today, don't think I'll be seeing it firsthand.

On that same note: if you're around fog in the mornings, enough so that you can look directly at the sun and just barely see it, you can see a large sun spot in the lower right side of it. At least, for the next couple of days.

Too many clouds today in the Cincinnati area. Couldn't see crap.

I was hoping to get a good photo of it. Remember the hole in a piece of paper trick to see an eclipse? Well, the leaves on trees in the late summer/early fall have a lot of holes in them. So during a solar eclipse, each one of these holes acts like a lens. Under a tree, you can see hundreds of little half/moon shapes. The first time I saw it was a long time ago, and I was hoping to see it again and photograph it.

        Maybe next time.

I was wrong, it was already dark here by 5 PM yesterday. Stupid arctic circle...

I managed to get this before the clouds moved in.1534733_303281516533041_5281340419512904845_o.jpg
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

I thought this was a neat (I'm giving away my age now ) photo of the sunspots.
