I looked at that again and realized it looks like there's tread on the dent. Did you replace them? Looks like a manufacturer defect. Or maybe I've had too much to drink and I should just go to bed. This reply took 1/2 hour to typoe.
Not enough force to turn the sep. roller so it just slides the paper along and gives it a shave.
The indentation has not be "shaved" but is pushed in. The original profile of the roller is still visible. The cassette #2 where this has been installed was not in use for three weeks cause customer uses this tray only for A3.

Thank God you replaced it only 2 weeks ago, think three would make it to the shaft.
I've noticed, thats why I added the bullying note (joke) with federal agents " Feds" after my initial post

.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?
I saw that 2 weeks ago. Not as bad, but it was the first time I had seen an indent on a roller made of that material. It was the reverse roller in the adf of a c652 with a fairly low meter. Customer kept reporting adf issues, jamming and pulling extra pages, but the meter count did not justify new rubber. The environment was very dusty and I was going at it from that angle. Finally with nothing else to try, I pulled the roller and saw my reason for jamming. Mine was an OEM roller.

Have had the same problem a few times on C451/2 series machines as well as the BH versions. Aleways caused by torque limiter failures..too tight.
All used OEM parts.
We've not seen this with OEM parts (Savin and Konica), and our company policy is to NEVER use anything but OEM. Printing out this pic for our dispatch wall!

The torque limiter doesn't come into action in this scenario. The rollers are practically not in use. They're just sitting in the cassette port doing nothing just waiting for an occasional A3 sheet to be fed. Even when this was a torque limiter case, than the profile texture would be gone and not untouched as in the picture.
Aftermarket separation roller newly installed 3 weeks ago. Now this customer and many others with the same type of roller installed are calling for paper jams. The PU material is so soft that the pressure on it is causing a huge indentation.

That's really weird. Back in the day when the Riso GRs came with similarly blue colored feed tires, they were the hardest ones we had ever seen.
I always thought that the problem of substandard components is rampant only this side of the globe and that the Western world is so strict about quality control and strict adherence to standards that it is unimaginable to find any fake products in your markets! But from the look of things, this seem to be a misconception. How could those substarndard separation rollers escape the very strict scrutinizing eyes of your standards agency?

There is no one at the docks inspecting what is made in China. It is up to each brand and manufacturer to insure the quality of what they put their name on.

I don't work on KM boxes, but it looks like it's got a spring clutch on it. Shouldn't it be rotating a little with each pass to even out the wear on the roller?

Yes it should. But KM changed the design to a shaft and torque limiter and roller on newer assys.. Seems to work better that way..
