Yeah I hate the long race less winters too!! I know your an F1 fan, but the NHRA starts February 5 2015 and NASCAR Sprint cup starts February 14 2015. Not quite as long of a wait!!!!!!
I'm trying to type this without reading the above posts as I don't want to find out who won. Missed the race live as it was late Sunday night local time and I was sound asleep when the race started. I've got to dodge all the news bulletins until I get home tonight to watch the replay.
Come on Nicco, you can do it!

Sorry Nico, not this year but another bloody ripper of a drive from Dan, he's the man to watch next year.
If you really wanted Nico, then I may have to withdraw my offer of the Jaguar models
Dan is an incredible driver, future world champion there, along with Valteri Bottas

In the minority, but like the new specs. This is the first season for a bunch of new stuff all at once. Love the sounds during certain camera shots.
Did anyone catch the thermal image camera shot when they were coming into the pits a couple of races back ??
You could see the guys holding the warmed tires, and they looked to be very similar temps to what came off.
That was a great shot !!!
Hope someone can give Mercedes some competition next year.

Stay Strong Jules.
I agree, apart from the double points, I like the new regs. I thought the engine sound would spoil the enjoyment, but, apart from the initial excitement with the noise filling every fibre of you when the engines roar into life for first practice, I liked the new engine sound, and for once you could hear the commentary as the cars went past. This season has been the most exciting for years.
I hope Williams can keep the momentum and challenge for wins next year, Bottas deserves it.
Jules is still very much in my thoughts too

Just giving you a bit of a stir there Debs, I like Nico as i was a supporter of his Dad, Keke way back in the early Eighties. Nice to see Williams have found their mojo again.

I liked Nico until Monaco, and then at Spa he took the crown from Vettel as the driver I dislike the most, a position I suspect he will hold for a long time

So what did he do to upset you?
And I wonder what Vettel thought as he passed Alonso? Something along the lines of... "Have I given up my seat in RBR to drive that red slug of a Ferrari? I might have made a bit of a mistake there"

Deliberately bringing out the yellow flags in quali so he would keep pole position in Monaco, deliberately driving into Lewis at Spa (and he admitted doing so)
I don't think Vettel has any interest in RBR now that Newey won't be involved in the design, and I thought Lewis made a mistake leaving McLaren for Mercedes, I was wrong. When Vettel signed for RBR the Toro Rosso was performing better, and I bet you didn't think it was worth anyone bothering to get out of bed on race day if they were driving a Williams after such a disastrous 2013. Although, I still hope Kimi wipes the floor with Seb next year, and Dan gets more race wins to add to this years 3

Sorry - the whole modern day F1 thing leaves me cold - give me Touring Cars or Rallying (especially back in the days of Mk2 Escorts)......
I do like some of the old classic Grand Prix though - I just can't seem to get into the new stuff......
Most of the modern day improvements to F1 cars has been to increase driver safety. The same is true for Indy cars and NASCAR.

I remember back when I was in high school that if you were listening to Indianapolis 500 on the radio and they did an around the track to various trackside microphones, you could tell from the sound of the engine what type it was that was passing the microphone.
