we encounterd problems with kyocera TASKalfa 650c connected to fieryGA-1310
when we attempt to install scan to file it is impossible to choose @?/_- or so in the login name and password for the server.

It is very common for software that requires a username and password to limit the usable input to alphanumeric characters. The client is being unreasonable as they are expecting this machine to do something that most machines cannot do. This could be a ploy to get out of their lease...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

      thanks for your replay,

the customer uses windows certified passwords and is not willing to change this policy.
and the problem is also that they have a sharp with fiery which is working without these limmitation
so i can't imagine that our kyocera can't work also

Which version o/s on the fiery? It may need an updated version to support the extra characters.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

the problem is not with the fiery it is a machine limmitation which by the way is acknowledged by kyocera, as of now.
but since this is a toshiba engine i was hoping that someone has a solution, because next week the machines are to be taken away from these customer due to this imperfection.
