I going to throw my thoughs in on this also. I , as an indy , make sure that I can get the firmware before I take on the machine. That being said I believe machine makers should be required to post firmware along with drivers for seven years on their website. because they didn't have it right to start with it should be free to whomever owns the machine. I can't help in this case but I would if I could

I think Europe has a law about that. Some manufacturer's have firmware on their public sites and some don't. I guess it's that way so home users don't f*ck up their machines. If you want to see how home users do that, go down the road to fixyourownprinter.com and see all the posts from idiots who flashed their firmware and fouled it up.
