Hi, Just joined - Need Immediate Help

Hello, I am indeed a newbie and I need immediate assistance. Please accept my apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum for this post.

Our office is in need of a copier. The copier that has serviced us for over 10 years is in need of a photo conductor unit. It is an old gestetner.

We would like to obtain a new copier. There are many options available for multifunction copiers. I visited a store which offered the same canon model for thousands of dollars less than what a salesman came to offer. I want to be sure that I am comparing apples to apples and be able to make the best decision possible.

Lease or buy, service contract or not, etc. many things to consider.

One model, a canon ir 2525 was offered for $2,500 a salesman offered it for about 8K. Another option would be a Canon IR 5055 for about 14K after a 60 month lease.

If there is any direction that you can point me in or any helpful information that you can think of, I'd appreciate it a lot. I would like to make a decision soon.

    Thank you in advance

I think it depends on how much paper you are going to be putting through the machine each month as to how to purchase a machine. If you can't afford down time then a service contract is definatly the way to go.

Why not just replace the photoconductor unit? I'm pretty sure the cost of a new one would be a damn sight cheaper than buying a new machine?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Another end user. Keep giving him free advice and your industry will go down the toilet too.
