    Ricoh 3245C- add toner message.

I have a customer with a Ricoh 3245C that has an add black toner message, they are using after market toner and devolper unit for the black only has 10K on it. They had 3 toners there for the black all were generic and all did this problem. I did get it to a ready state but it said black toner is low. Could it be the toner cartrige or should I go ahead and order the toner pump?

Replace the toner (genuine ricoh) + pump + toner tube + DV unit, vac out the hopper and tell the customer not to use generic toner except they prefer this pricey repairs again and again. In case they use generic toner for the other colors with no problem /so far) I'd also recommend to dispose them and use original ricoh toner to avoid the same issues.

Thanks. Thats proberly the only way to guarantee that problem gets fixed. Sounds like it's not worth using generic toners.
