    Newbie

    Hi'yall
I'm new to Copytechnet...I needed information on setting up a Ricoh MP C2500 but it seems you need to be 'in it to win it' lol!In other words you need to be actively using your account or you arevautomatically removed as I was it seems. Anyway, I need to program a Ricoh MP C2500 to scan but I dont know how, neither dod I understand all the technical terms (I feel they are often used loosely anyway).
Is there anyone out there with a little patience and a lot of time?

    Kind regards

      Dear Win:

Welcome to this site! Ask around in the correct forums and you may find the answers. If you have the time try to google the problem. It take patience and perseverance. You must have a long attention span. Cheers.

Do you want to scan to folder ot scan to email?
1.Either way get the IP address of the machine first and then log into the machine from a PC using the web browser.
2.In the address bar at the top you type in //"Machine IP goes here" press enter
3.When you see the machines user interface click on "log in"
4.The default username is "admin" and the password is usually left blank, press enter
        5.Now click on "Configuration"
6.Under Device Setting or Settings click on "Email"
7.Enter an Administrator email address like scanner@companyname.co.za or com or whatever
8.Enter a SMTP server name(get this from the company's IT guy) - be sure to use the IP of the SMTP server and not the name. The name does not always work.
        9.Click on "OKAY"
10.It shoould take you back to the main menu. If it doesn't, click back
        11.Click on "address book"
        12.Click on "Add"
13.Enter a name and key display that will show on the machines screen
14.Scroll down to "protection" and make sure both Destination and Sender are ticked
15.Scroll down to Email and enter the email address you want the machine to scan to.
16.Click save and add next to add another and the just fill in the details from step 13.
17.Once you've entered all the email addresses click okay and it will take you back to the address book screen where you will be able to view your contacts.
