    Hi, newbie here

Guess it's about time I said hello, I found this site almost a year ago when I was given a (very) broken copier (Canon imageRunner C3200N in case you become intrigued) to try to get working for personal use at home and was looking for advice about what to do with it - as it turned out life got in the way so its been a big ugly piece of furniture ever since.

Now that I'm planning to spend some time on it again, I thought I'd come back and do some lurking around here for a bit first and try to see a way that I can give some value back to the community rather than just taking!

I'm afraid I know very little about copiers specifically, rather a specialist subject I gather, but I am very technically capable in terms of computer software, hardware, networking, coding, etc, and I can (and often do) turn my hand to stripping down and repairing most forms of technology, from computers to smartphones to audio equipment, to household appliances (dishwashers, tumble dryers, vacuum cleaners.. most things), to car engines.
In particular for some reason I find myself replacing a lot of cracked touch screen digitizers and/or lcds on smartphones and tablets.
Hopefully if I can make a success of repairing this copier that can be another string to my bow!

Last year I gave up my job working for a chemical and mechanical engineering firm to go back to university and am studying for a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.

I'm sure I will find my place here to be able to be of help to people, but in the meantime I really would like to contribute so if you think I might be able to help with something please let me know!

    Cheers

    Anthony
