    How to become a moderator?

How does one become rewarded as a moderator of a forum.

    What are the qualifications?

Is it particularly being helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum?

Does it require computer skills, if so what kind?

Do you have to be a paid supporter?

We are not looking to add any additional moderators at this time. If we add a moderator in the future we will probably contact someone via PM and see if they would be interested.

Well, I've been a moderator in the past, but I must've been lucky, since I never had to put up with any crap - although, since it was a smaller comunity, I never had to delete any post, and during my whole time I only had to intervene twice.

All in all, it was not that different than nowadays - I still keep an eye on what's posted, I just report the post instead of doing something myself. It doesn't change much. One doesn't need to be a moderator to do that.

I've noticed that the place seems pretty tolerant regarding users. The odd time a spammer comes in, but that is rare it seems. At least from what I have seen in the few forums I visit here. Most of the time everyone keeps a professional attitude here. The difference I think in this forum relative to many other forums I have visited is that most visitors here are adults, if not all, considering what this place is about. I have yet to see a teenager wannabe tech in here, like I see many teenager wannabe computertechs in the multitude of other places I have visited. Of course, can't always tell the age of course....but I can guess.

I do not think 10871087 has to be here all the time. He has a life, I am pretty sure of that. I would say it would be unreasonable for him to watch this place 24/7.

Please do not PM me for questions related to Konica Minolta hardware.
I will not answer requests or questions there.
Please ask in the KM forum for the benefit of others to see the question and give their input.

I posted the thread "How to become moderator" in sense of not asking to be one but how could one become one.
I wanted to hear a clear explanation about what are the responsibilities that a moderator is responsible for on a forum and what are the requirements.
I know I could read the FAQ's but I would like a moderators point of view. I'm sure this can be easy to answer moderator!
There are some good opinions by members of the pros and cons of being a moderator. Yes, who wants the responsibility of keeping members or forums in check. It would seem that a moderator would have to cater to the needs of members request, which can be a bit tired some. I could just imagine the rest.

It was just a question that was on my mind at that moment.
Thanks for the responses. I hope I did not offend anyone.

Re: How to become a moderator?

I believed that becomes the moderator, should be skilled in the computer skill. Otherwise how how to manage.
