If they turn the machine off and back on, it shows paper full.
Until they run a few pages and the message comes back.

I haven't worked on Sharp equipment since the analog days, so I'm not going to be much help. Sorry.
Although if you haven't checked the paper lift mechanism in tray 2 to make sure it isn't binding or something, you might try that.
