How about a Toshiba BD-25... circa 1975? She was my first; a paper jam wrapped around squeegee roller..

Correction ... 3-M Dual Spectrum 1973? Used 2 sheets of paper and was a thermal process... First call was replacing about 24 little incandescent bulbs that were the exposure lamps.

Hey jr266, what Safir you worked on? The Safir 404 and 304 where the first copiers I ever touched. ZnO roll paper with dispersant and liquid toner....

I started out doing typewriters and often worked on machines from before WWII. With copiers I worked on a variety of old moving top Sharps.

The oldest would have been 1978 when I first started. It was the great liquid Savin 750. We had some Savin 220 I think. They came out with a dry kit for them if I remember right.

Canon np-200. Still keep all my certificates rolled up in an old drum tube. Wonder if they are toxic now too lol
Sorry, no. Techs don't carry toner.

Probably the 3M 839, it was a coated paper machine that was big hit with doctors back in the '80s - it was small, but it could be set to copy their statements, which is probably why 5.5X8.5" size paper is called statement size.
The 3M 215 cold fuser rollers were heavy enough that they made good "Tire Buddies" for my deuce and a half while I was in the Reserves back in the day. Pressing the "copy" button on this machine while the corona connector cover was off looked cool, but wasn't recommended if anyone else was around.
I guess the oldest machines I've worked on that used the modern process were the 3M 360/365/368s. Toner was added by a cam pushing a lever. Toner balancing was needed often, but you just had to move the lever manually.
The oldest machine I have worked on recently was a Lanier 6616. An analog Panasonic based machine that I thought was pretty good back in the mid nineties, and all I had to do to this one was clean it up and disable the optional second paper drawer.

The first unit I was trained on and serviced was the TC III. That was an analog telecopier. Back in 1973. I guess I've been in this business for quite awhile.
