Re: any companies laying off ?

We are just now cut to a 3 day work week, but only a 25% pay reduction. Not earning anything for on-call standby now either, though still get paid if called out. No merit increase this year at all. Better than unemployment but still a significant hit. Thankfully we no longer have a mortgage to pay or we would be in emergency mode. This is slated to run our first quarter to the end of June, evaluated on an ongoing basis.

The missus may not get any summer contracts at all, so that is another bridge to cross.

Large numbers of redundancies at Ricoh in OZ. After 42 years on Ricoh gear am now unemployed. Don't know how they are going to handle the work after shutdowns as they cant keep up with the work now.

This is bad news, I feel sorry for you. Someone with that much experience in the field shouldn't be seeking for work.

Ricoh in the local area has withdrawn support from reliable experienced business firms.

They in turn have issued Ricoh services contracts out to substandard inexperienced popup outlets.
Those outlets are wanting experience Techs to jump ship and pickup the experience knowledge void missing from the new fledgling stores. It appears if you are young out of University you can instantly know years of experience about business equipment. Because "THEY'VE BEEN TO UNI". Text-book tradesmens out of Uni have instant knowledge an experience every person believes that......

              Don't they?...

Loan sharks did the same thing during the great depression. The loan shark pay back interest rate crippled many people.

Do you believe gov'ts loan money from the privately own reserve banks of the each country only to have that debt wiped clean by the reserve banks????

Wait for the popluation to recover from Covid virus and watch for the strange new levy or tax rules that come about to remove the Covid debit money out of working class circulation and back to the reserve banks with huge huge interest. AKA Loan sharks...

Three day work week and all other restrictions will remain in place for the next quarter, end of September. We are also offered an incentive to leave the company if our individual situation makes this desirable.
