Re: Toshiba dealers - UK and Europe - Machine Stock
... most Toshiba A3 copiers are manufactured in China. Most Toshiba/ Lexmark copiers are manufactured in China. Either way via the Pacific or Atlantic oceans it is a long trip to Europe via ocean freight containers. Chinese ports are only now just starting to gradually re-open after being closed to all traffic because of COVID.
For all industries, all OEMs, do not expect a return to normal shipping times anytime in 2022. The days of shipping "just in time" inventory is over being replaced with a "just in case" inventory model. Having local inventory is king demanding a higher price in no small part because ocean freight rates and component costs remain at historical highs.
In North America, receiving Toshiba inventory remains a challenge but not as bad as Konica Minolta and Ricoh.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 05-24-2022, 07:11 PM. -
Re: Toshiba dealers - UK and Europe - Machine Stock
I'm a Tosh dealer in UK too......yes lots of delays for us too......the lexmark rebranded units 388's etc especially so......we spoke with Tosh last week about 388's and they said maybe July if it's an old outstanding order with them.
I think we're all in the saame boat....we hear from petential clients that pretty much all OEM's have the same issueComment

As side note KM should be ashamed and not excused at all for toner shortages they caused to their clients and dealers.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Re: Toshiba dealers - UK and Europe - Machine Stock
I do not have any real data from KM or Ricoh but I do from other OEMs and it isn't very good.
We recently quoted a new customer a machine and we were up against two other OEM dealers. We got the sale because we were the only dealer able to actually fill the order immediately. The others told the customer 3 months minimum.
Our reps were worried looking at the forecast of equipment availability through September. I gave them a list of in stock equipment that would easily take them through the summer. May not be what they want to sell but they can't say there isn't anything for them to sell.
We have loads of equipment orders that have no ETA. Some of them are several months old now.Comment

You may want to show some real data not based on rumours between dealers. Besides KM and Ricoh are top brands and higher demand can lead to bigger delay times in Covid situation.

Re: Toshiba dealers - UK and Europe - Machine Stock
... the real data is from the statements of Ricoh and Konica Minolta dealer owners who have recently become Toshiba multi-line dealers because they cannot get product from their primary OEMs. KM has been hemorrhaging a lot of money according to their last two financial reports.
