One ESP NextGen Surge Suppressor probably has the life of five copiers.

You never let one go back on a lease return and should buy them from used equipment resellers at a steep discount whenever possible.

Unfortunately, most Surge Suppressors do not protect against the most common cause of unstable power supplies which are milli-second brownouts. For this you need something like a Tripp Lite LC-1800 line conditioner. When copier printers start acting in weird ways, it is likely a power supply issue.

We have used several brands over the year. We use the ESP that record events and have a small LCD screen where you can view the events or download the details with their software. They are also nice becasue you can program thresholds into the filter to cut power.

If the customer is using DHCP we use Innovolt which has a cloud based dashboard. Techs can also log in to the cloud with an app while at the customer to show them events as well as email them a report directly from their phone. Right now we can't get the filters that report on their own so we are buying the ones require an onsite download/upload synch.

We also use MemoryExperts filters but they haven't been available for a long time.
