    Business talk forum request

How about a forum for \"business talk\" or other non machine related topics.

Great idea! Here\'s the first topic. Who bills for scans on these MFP machines, especially the customer that uses it as an archive scanner and dosn\'t copy or print much. Also how do you determine your rate?? Flat or by the scan?

We charge a minimum for copies/prints (based on Manufacturers recommendations) whether the customer uses them or not.

Scanning is clicked charged at .002 with no minimum.

We dont even bother with a scan charge, we put a monthly minimum on the print/copy total and if its not enough to cover the P&L for that machine we jack up the service at the next renewal.

we've gone to an additional monthly charge for our HV scan users. It can be up to $225/mo plus per click for prints. These folks are usually scanning 50k to 80k/ week on 75 ppm machines though.

I don't think we have anyone scanning near that volume but I wouldn't mind if we did.
