Though we are not a dealership we did have a number of Ricoh's subcontracted to them. After the initial 5 year contract finished they just ended the contracts without telling us or rolling them on like the original contract said they would.
There reply was it was standard practice to just end them with no feed back and that there terms and conditions had changed with respect to sub contracts to the point where they could do what they liked.
Thankfully our customers are understanding and so far have replaced their machines with either Canon's or Oki's.
Anyone else have theirRicoh/Savin/Lanier dealership not renewed? After 30 years we did.
Curious what the factors were???? Did you take on another line? Were you hitting your gates for hardware and aftermarket? Were you stepping on direct's toes? Were you taking too much advantage of programs for purchasing where you shouldn't have like NCPG or medAssetts? Just curious what the rest of the story is.
We never achieved our equipment quotas in 30 years, but that doesn't explain why we were not renewed now.
We took one drink of the coolaid & placed three machines under a state contract. That provided us w/ a few dollars for installation.
& $0.00 for supplies & service on the machine 60 miles away because they never exceeded the 2000 copy monthly free minimum.
This was a very profitable multimachine acc't for us B4 the Ricoh deal. If I had not placed them under the state contract then another Lanier/Savin/Ikon/Ricoh dealer from tim buk 2 would have. All of Ricohs special sector plans are the same, not enough profit for the dealer ensuring a slow death.
Other Ricoh branded dealers have been replacing our best acc'ts from 100's if not thousands of miles away expecting us to S&S for 7/10 or 8/10 cent per print. One controller & your not just toast but burnt toast.
I can not remember the last correct commision statement we recieved from Ricoh. Way too much time spent fighting this battle.
I fully documented the incursions into our machine population & sent it up the sales management line requesting assistance.
It seems every quarter a people/position shuffle occurs @ Ricoh thruout the org.
Instead of being the squeaky wheel to be greased I got the head shot to a quacking duck. At least thats my perspective as the only reply to my request was the letter of non-renewal.
