I forget who said it, someone more famous than I, but they said that it's good for countries to have revolutions every now and then and although I don't know the specifics of your country, I'd have to agree with that statement. It's the only thing that sometimes corrects major wrongs and gets things back on track. Tragic, but it's like a reset button. The real tragedy of a civil war is that unfortunately people don't learn from them and eventually things can go bad again.

    Hopefully things keep getting better.

The country had just emerged out of a 5year civil war which ushered in a new government and stability was not yet fully restored. In fact life itself was still generally hard for everyone. Basic essential commodities like salt & sugar were all scarce. It was like a " DOG EAT DOG", kind of situation, with the country's economy then still in shambles. But since then things have greatly improved for the better. The government worked very hard and with support from Donor countries like U.S.A, EUROPEAN UNION and others, the country was slowly brought back on the path to full economic recovery. But our citizens are not the type who easily forget if you give them a raw deal ! I recently saw Xerox's advertising posters etc, and I think they have been staging a COMEBACK bid, I wish them luck , but people already have a biased attitude towards them. " NATURE DOESN'T ALLOW VACUUM," when they left the market, other players filled in their places.

Kingpd, you have made my day good ! You really set me into a prolonged laughter in the office as I was reading your post, and every one around was wondering what had become of me? Well, it is an established truth that ' CHANGES ARE NECESSARY FOR GROWTH'. A real RESET BUTTON , as you put it. What more can i say ? Humans are very complicated creatures, even GOD has problem in controlling them, but somehow, life has to go on. Thank you for your mature reasonings. I wish you all a HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

                  Bow to my superior intellect...

I am employed by a Super Ginormous International (possibly Galactic) Mega-Corporation with far too many employees to... count? (ha-ha, are you kidding!).
We invented the Personal Computer, the plain paper Electro-Static Duplicating Machine, The Floppy Disk, every Chuck Norris joke known to Man, the Pocket-Protector, and those little plastic & wire twisty things that hold new cables in a nice, neat roll.
I am but a series of numbers, a battery of statistics identifying my corporate worth. A mere spec in the Industrial Microcosm. A tiny microdot to be read by those with only the highest security clearance and cast aside or assigned as dictated by the needs of The Company.
We are quite probably the most powerful organization In Da Vorld! And I am lucky -- lucky, I say -- to be here.
                  Better living through chemicals.
                  All Hail The Machine.

Seriously, it's a pretty cool gig.

Work for a gigantic multinational corperation. My emplyee number is 9 digits long. There are 59 technicians in the Chicago area. There is a global help desk it support line. Laptops are serialized. Blackberries are serialized. I am a number, but my manager is awesome, my teammates are awesome, and its nice to get 3 wks a year paid vacay, 4 floating holidays, 7 paid sick days, and 7 paid holidays. I take the good and the bad.

I work for a small company that used to be a medium dealership until we expanded and bought a series of failing companies and grew smaller in the process, as we integrated their success.

WOW how things change. That was 4 years ago. Still with the same company and boy has it grown. From approx. 100 employees to over 300. From covering 1 state to 3 with a foothold in 4 others.
