I hope I am explaining this adequately. I'm the one who gets sent to the odd ball calls. Usually work on Sharps and printers. This said 'plate 1 cable error'. It had a bent pin that I got back into place. When turned back on, it said ' plate 1 motor error. I took it apart as far as I could figure out. Couldn't tell if there was some sort of home sensor. Reseated connections. When I turn it on it comes up with the error right away. I noticed a slot on the shaft that I could turn to change the position. After that when I turn it on, it returns to the top position of the plate, and the error returns. I found a manual online. From that it looked like the rough adjustment knob was missing. Would that cause a motor error ? Otherwise I don't know if a bent pin would zap a board, or if there would be some other cause. If I go back I want to have parts on hand that I need. Conversely I don't want to order parts that I don't need. I would appreciate if anyone could advise. Thanks.
