Error Message "Reset Base" @ PitneyBowes B900/E511

    Hello there,

our shop still have an old System like this in use:

Unfortunately with plenty credits left. The system is giving out the error message "Reset Base" - turning everythin off+on or removing/re-inserting the B900 unit from the base didn't do the trick, that's why I disassembled the base to clean it with compresed air. Well, quite some dust came out of the unit but the error still remains.

One thing I've noticed is if I remove the stamp/postage unit from the base, a little lever looks out of the base unit and moves back and forth if I turn on the power of the base unit. If I try to do this while holding the lever with my fingers (without much force) it seems that the drive isn't really strong. I digged deeper and saw that the mechanic for the lever contains a motor that drives a gear with some extender wheel that finalle moves the lever. I've noticed that the timing belt feels pretty loosen - it's not that loosen it would jump over but this might gives the mechanic too much play.

Besides this wild guess I don't know if this lever is even involved so it could lead to the "reset base" message.

I know the unit is decades old but maybe there's an easy fix available - in case some of you guys are long enough in the business to know this model (or postage meters in general)^^
