I think that to be a keyboard error (pretty common on these)

You could clean the contacts on the plastic ribbon cable with a pencil eraser... but not sure if it will solve it though.

There are still typewriters in use??????????????

I saw an old Brother document writer with a daisy wheel and asked why it wasn't in a museum.

The owner thought is was still worth $500.00. He almost hit me when I had a full belly laugh.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

We still have people who order 20+ year old refurb Wheelwriters.

        They are well built machines.

Was that the EM1 or EM2 model? The reason I ask is the Technology used for the Carriage Drive was the predecessor to the Stepping Motor - ie. the Carriage would float along a FLAT Rail using electromagnets in the underside of the Carriage to stop precisely where it was required for the next type impression - aaaaahhh I remember it well.
