My church has an older Hitachi projector they bought new (and paid a ton of money for). It has a blue line that runs vertical on the left side of the screen. I have the case apart. I have read suggestions that the main board might be bad. However, after pulling the board, I don't see any bulging capacitors, no burnt areas of the board, and by the naked eye, I can't see any bad solder joints or cracks. I have also read somewhere that a LCD lens might be bad. I pulled a couple of the glass lenses out and do not see anything wrong with them, but have not gone all the way down in and removed them all. I'd really love to breathe some new life into this projector so we can at least use it as a spare. With the blue line in it, it's too distracting to use as is during a service. The church bought a new one to replace it. Anyone have a suggestion on what might be causing the blue line? I'll gladly add photos of the progress if wanted or needed. Also, besides bulbs and filters, does anyone have any recommendations for a place to purchase parts and maybe find a tech manual on it? At the same time, this same model is selling on e-bay for $600.00 for the whole projector used, so I don't want to spend a ton on it. Worst case scenario, I just waste some time and chalk this up as a learning experience working on a projector. I appreciate any help given. Thanks in advance.
